Designing is done… what’s left? 30 January 2007 at 3:15 pm by 1,607 views

I’m finally done with the design of the site… whoo! :D That feels great to say!

So what’s left? For one, I need to update the main site to WordPress 2.0.7, and the Archives to WordPress 2.1.0 (if it works fine there, I will update the main site to 2.1.0 as well). Another thing I need to do is to finish uploading the pictures from my old Coppermine install, to my new FGallery+ install.

Aside from those things, I got nothing left… so expect this to become the new face of FlishFun.com by 02/07/07. :D

As I’m sure most of you have heard, there will be a video of Kevin Federline day-dreaming that he’s a rich rapper while he works a fast food job. Well, the video has hit the net and can be seen below:

As much as I hate to admit it… I love the commercial. You can get some more scenes and even the MP3 of the song from Nationwide’s site. Peace, ya’ll!

+ Free Wifi… as if By 29 January 2007 at 11:41 am 657 views No Comments

While I was imaging a laptop in the office today I noticed a connection named “Free Public Wifi” on the Windows Wireless Network Connection screen. I found this quite odd for a few reasons…

  1. It was a PC to PC connection
  2. My office building is by an airport in the middle of nowhere
  3. We have only two wireless connections in our building

Being the nosy person that I am, I thought I’d google to see if this is something others have seen. Imagine my (lack of) surprise… it’s a scam! It seems people are sitting around at airports and using this “free” wifi connection to get into your system… nice.

A quick snippet from the article:

The next time you’re at an airport looking for a wireless hot spot, and you see one called “Free Wi-Fi” or a similar name, beware — you may end up being victimized by the latest hot-spot scam hitting airports across the country.

You could end up being the target of a “man in the middle” attack, in which a hacker is able to steal the information you send over the Internet, including usernames and passwords. And you could also have your files and identity stolen, end up with a spyware-infested PC and have your PC turned into a spam-spewing zombie. The attack could even leave your laptop open to hackers every time you turn it on, by allowing anyone to connect to it without your knowledge.

If you’re a Windows Vista user, you’re especially susceptible to this attack because of the difficulty in identifying it when using Vista. In this article, you’ll learn how the attack works and how to keep yourself safe from it if you use Windows XP or Vista.

Globetrotter Bus Vandalized With Racial Slurs In Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. — The famous Globetrotters basketball team were escorted to their bus after performing at the Mid-America Center Friday night after repeated threats were made against them.

Earlier on Friday, somebody covered their team bus with graffiti.

Omaha police said it’s all cleaned up now but the bus is scratched up.

The bus was parked outside the Regency Marriott hotel Wednesday night and when the team noticed racial slurs written on it Thursday afternoon, the driver filed a police report.

Police ask anyone with information to call crime stoppers at 402-444-STOP.

Jess is currently high… stoned, if you will. Why is that? Well, it seems that when you’re sick and want relief it’s easy to mistake “2 teaspoons” for “2 tablespoons” on the dosing instructions for cough syrup.

The cough medicine we have has Dextromethorphan (DXM) as the only active ingredient, and Jess took about 6 teaspoons(180mg) in one shot, instead of 2 teaspoons (60mg). A quick look into this chemical tells us some interesting information:

DXM, when consumed in low recreational doses (usually under 200 mg), is often described as having a buoyant, vaguely psychedelic effect similar to a mixture of alcohol, opiates, and marijuana.

Let me be the first to tell ya… it surely does. Jess has sworn off cough syrup for probably the next few months, as she’s not a fan of the sudden stoning. Anyway, I need to go as she is telling me that her toenails feel funny. :-P
