Go Big Red! 22 September 2007 at 6:48 pm by 740 views

Jess and I just got back from the Husker game (thanks to the Pres of my company we got great seats). Today the Huskers managed to squeeze out a 41-4o victory over Ball State (David Letterman‘s alma mater) and all in all it was a great game. Jess and I got some sun, and are kinda pink and need to remember to wear sunscreen in the future. Really, just wasn’t thinkin’ when we went out this morning.

Check this out… a shot I took of Nebraska’s winning touchdown (click for full pic):

I told ya they were nice seats!

We just got back from Whitehall Jewelers last night with our wedding rings (did I mention I was getting married?) and they look great! Check them out (click for a bit larger):

Nice, huh? All custom… both of them! Really, I think Whitehall is one of the best jewelers around, if you have one near you, go check them out!

+ Aren’t I the creative one? By 16 September 2007 at 2:11 pm 615 views No Comments

I just finished designing a website for my co-worker’s side-business (photography)… check it out:

http://www.dulceinc.com

The whole thing validates XHTML 1.0 Strict (nice!) and the only issues I can find with it so far (which I’ll be working on) are:

  1. CSS issues in Safari.
  2. CSS issues in Opera.
  3. Calender doesn’t popup in IE due to a paragraph tag.

That’s not too shabby for a week’s worth of work, methinks! The next step is re-coding his MySpace page to match the rest of the site (if you see his gallery, that’s actually my custom coding of PixelPost). Anyway, it was fun and now I’m feeling all creative! I wonder what I should do next?

+ Hello from Windows Live Writer! By 06 September 2007 at 9:07 am 260 views No Comments

This post is being made from my desktop using the new Windows Live Writer Beta! I thought I’d give it a whirl and see how it works.

So far it seems like a pretty good program… there is a little bit of a lag on it, but I don’t know if that’s the program, or my PC (it’s currently running a few other apps).

Now let’s try adding a picture:

Nice! The picture options on this program are quite like Microsoft Word 2007, in that you can add drop shadows and even a watermark! This should come in handy for photographers, I’d think!

This should be a block quote!

Well, all in all I think I’d probably use this tool daily to update my blog, it’s much more convenient than logging in through a browser (the spell-check is a nice plus, as well!). If you’d like to test out the tool for yourself, the download link is below! Enjoy!

+ Studying for the 70-291 exam By 05 September 2007 at 7:13 am 604 views No Comments

I’m now just one exam away from my MCSA… but this one is gonna be a doozy! Unfortunately most of the companies I’ve worked for in the past are in the small to medium range, and as such their networking seemed to be along the lines of “modem goes into the router, the end”. While it worked, it doesn’t help me prepare for this test… just look at the name:

Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure

Yeah, piece of cake. :P I’ll be up late every day pouring over the book (I self-study for every exam I take… no classes for me) and going over my company’s network infrastructure (it’s as close as I’ll get for now). I think I’ll be okay, but it was just shock seeing the size of the book compared to all the others.
