I’m a huge fan of Counterize II, but the one thing I wish it did was keep better track of my unique hits, rather than just all hits. I was playing around with the plugin and, after figuring out how it called data, made some changes for it to show unique hit data in graph form, rather than just visitor data. See here: Before (this is what the standard plugin displays):
After (you can see that my modded plugin displays all the Unique hit information before showing the standard info):
If you’d like a copy of this plugin, just do the following (those currently using Counterize can skip to step 3):
- Download Counterize II (this was made from version 2.14.1)
- Install, activate, and configure the plugin.
- Backup your counterize.php file, and copy my modded version to the /plugins/counterizeii folder (after extracting it from the .zip file).
That’s it! Once you do that, if all went well, you will now have graphs showing all the Unique visitor data, rather than just the standard visitor data. Enjoy!! Please Note! This hasn’t been tested on any other blog other than my own, so buyer beware!

great job!!!
our brand new wordpress-based news-site is going to be online in few hours and I was spending a lot of time looking for a plugin that do show me stats without making my db huge, without giving our viewers data to google nor anyone else, without having to install anything more on the server: counterize seemed to be the answer, but it didn’t show unique visitors! and all our editors used to calculate our success according to unique visitors on our previous website, I couldn’t change their habits! I was getting mad looking for an alternative… and then I found your mod!
thanks a lot, Jason
