I’m sure most of you remember Levi… he was my pet Blue Crayfish that I got for my birthday back in 2005. In fact, the very first post in my blog on this domain (after the AutoPatcher blog) involved Levi. He lived a pretty good life, he was almost three years old, which from what I can tell online, is the average lifespan for a crayfish like him. It’s really sad that he’s gone… I dunno if we’re going to get another, or if we’re going to wait a while. The first pic below was taken the day we got him… you’ll not he’s about the size of the gravel. In the second pic it was his full-grown size… note how big he is compared to the same gravel. He grew a lot while we had him, and if anyone out there is thinking of a Blue Lobster as a pet, I’d suggest you get one young so you can watch him grow up!

You can see a bunch more of his pics here in my photo gallery… he will be missed, such an interesting creature.
For those wondering, he died from what appeared to be old age. Over the past 3 months he has slowed down… not moving around as much and 2 days ago he kind of went and layed in a corner of the tank. He was still alive yesterday, he moved his claws at me when I tapped him, but today he was still… I figure as far as deaths go, it was a pretty peaceful one.

My Jessica had her birthday today! Happy b-day, sweetie!!!
Today Jess is the big Two-Five… that’s right, 25 years old!
I already gave her her presents, and tonight I’ll be taking her out for her birthday dinner.
Wow, it seems like this year went pretty fast, it’s like we just celebrated her birthday. I really hope she has a great day (she was feelin’ pretty lousy yesterday) and that she enjoys her meal (and cake!) tonight.
Let’s see… what all did I get for her? I got her a bottle of Ice Wine, a bottle of a nice Rosé wine from France. What else? Truffles… lots and lots of truffles. She loves them! Also, I got her some bubble baths and lotions that she had asked for. All and all, she seemed very happy with what she got.
So what all did you get her? Nothing?! You’d better leave a comment wishing her a happy birthday then! You don’t want to get in trouble.
Today Jess and I tried a bottle of Jackson-Triggs Proprietors’ Reserve 2004 Vidal Icewine (it’s her birthday in two days, and I decided to let her have some of her gifts early). Wow, just wow. It was the best tasting wine I’ve ever had. Sweet and fruity, with a very slight burn. A lot of flavor.
Unfortunately it isn’t cheap. A 187mL bottle (which is about half a can of soda) costs a good $20.00. :pinch: Yeah, it ain’t cheap, but if you ever have a chance to try some, I definitely suggest that you do.
For those wondering what ice wine is, here’s a nice definition for you:
Ice wine is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been naturally frozen on the vine. The sugars and other dissolved solids do not freeze, but the water does, so the result is an unusually concentrated, often very sweet wine.
So, are there any good wines that you enjoy? Or is there a good place to come by Ice Wine, as it’s hard to find here. Feel free to comment!
Today is Neowin’s 5th Birthday! I hope everyone is enjoying the festivities! Also, if you didn’t already check, here’s a preview of Neowin 5.0… the link is inside (make sure you look… I spent most of my time in Denver workin’ on it on my laptop). I hope it’s enough to hold you over for awhile.
Okay, back to the old grind, if I don’t make these images, who will?
