I just got around to upgrading to Wordpress 2.3.2. I tell you, I’ve just been wiped out the past few months. For those wondering, the wedding went great! I’m still working on pictures, but here’s a nice one for you to chew on:

Awww… how cute!
Yes, that’s a Christmas Tree behind us, as it was December 24th!
Work has got me constantly running… this past week has been insane as we had to rush and upgrade to Exchange 2007 (mainly because we were out of space and weren’t allowed to purchase Exchange 2003 Enterprise) and we’ve run into many a problem. Luckily it looks like I’ve finally gotten most of it under control (we run a 2 man shop here and I was responsible for about 95% of this little project) and the users are back working just as they were before.
I really need to update the look/feel of the site… maybe I’ll get to that in the coming weeks. I also have another domain I purchased for something I was looking to do as a side project, but it’s been sitting on the back burner (oh what could it be?!).
Anyway, I’m looking forward to the new year… I’m officially married, I’m going to see the Foo Fighters in concert in Feb, and I’m an uncle! What, I didn’t mention that? Jessica’s sister gave birth on Jan 17th to Miss Catherine Grace Stephen:

Adorable, isn’t she? I think she has my sense of style.
Okay, that’s enough for now… I have e-mail issues to attend! Expect more later… I won’t let this blog fade away!

I’m sure most of you remember Levi… he was my pet Blue Crayfish that I got for my birthday back in 2005. In fact, the very first post in my blog on this domain (after the AutoPatcher blog) involved Levi. He lived a pretty good life, he was almost three years old, which from what I can tell online, is the average lifespan for a crayfish like him. It’s really sad that he’s gone… I dunno if we’re going to get another, or if we’re going to wait a while. The first pic below was taken the day we got him… you’ll not he’s about the size of the gravel. In the second pic it was his full-grown size… note how big he is compared to the same gravel. He grew a lot while we had him, and if anyone out there is thinking of a Blue Lobster as a pet, I’d suggest you get one young so you can watch him grow up!

You can see a bunch more of his pics here in my photo gallery… he will be missed, such an interesting creature.
For those wondering, he died from what appeared to be old age. Over the past 3 months he has slowed down… not moving around as much and 2 days ago he kind of went and layed in a corner of the tank. He was still alive yesterday, he moved his claws at me when I tapped him, but today he was still… I figure as far as deaths go, it was a pretty peaceful one.
I’ve about had it with spammers, now. I don’t know what more I can do to prevent them from posting their inane spam comments on my blog without making everyone register (which I don’t want to do). All I know is that I shouldn’t have 172 IPs blocked from my site… each one a confirmed spammer, drives me insane! Argh!
Okay, that’s all… just wanted to shout about it. Are there any good spam solutions out there for blogs? Or am I stuck doing this the way I am… one spammer at a time?
I’ve updated the blog to Wordpress 2.02 today…. it shouldn’t affect anything, but as always, if you see any bugs, please contact me (or comment in here). Thanks!
Whoo!! Today was Cleaning Day at work, and I got a bunch of odd things to bring home. First of all (since I’m sure you don’t work with me), Cleaning Day is the one day each year we can dress casual and essentially spend the day cleaning our work areas. Well, my boss is the third IT manager to be in his office and finally decided to clean it all out and I was handed any software he planned on getting rid of. While most of it was pointless things like Gateway Driver CDs, I did manage to find some interesting CDs that I may just sell off to those of you who like them. A quick example, I have a sealed Windows 98 Disc w/ serial (never used) and a Windows NT 3.51 CD. Yeah, a nice odd mix of stuff, and I just don’t know what to do with it. E-bay? NeoBay? Send a random CD with donations to my Gift Fund? Who knows.
Anyways, I needs to get back to cleaning… feel free to comment with what you think I should do with all of these CDs.
Oh, on a side note… for those of you who want to comment, you don’t have to be a member of my blog to do so. Just click where it says “No Comments” (or the number of comments) , then under “Leave a Reply”, just fill out your name, e-mail addy, website (if you want, not required) and your comment. Then click “Submit”. It’s as easy as that!
