As part of Jessica’s “birthday weekend” she decided to get her hair cut, styled, and colored. The issue is that the place that she normally goes to (Xenon in Omaha) was booked solid. The solution? We went to a different stylist and had her hair cut and styled… then she let me attempt to color it (she decided to have no part in it)! Here’s what it looked like before (a couple weeks ago):

Now, after two boxes of color, plenty of cursing, and just a bit of trying to work with crossed fingers, here is the end result:

Not bad! In fact, I think it’s a pretty damn good job, myself. Maybe workin’ for a beauty company is starting to rub off some!
So I think I broke my toe. I’ve never broken a toe, so I’m not sure, but it turned purple, got swollen, and hurts. Anyway, a warning to you all… never slam your toe on the edge of a bathtub. Very painful. What else? Let’s see… all my hair dye has washed out. I’m back to plain ol’ brown. How sad. I’ll have to re-dye it another time. Jess, however, still has her perty maroon colored hair! I wonder how long it’ll be before it come out?
Okay, that’s all for now from the homefront! You all go and have fun now!
Today’s recipe is a nice citrus flavored blast! If you have ever seen an old school iMac and thought “I wish I had a drink that color of Aqua”, wait no more!

1/2 oz Chambord
1/2 oz Dry Vermouth
2 oz Vodka
4 oz Orange Juice (no pulp)
