Go Big Red! 22 September 2007 at 6:48 pm by Jason 70 views

Jess and I just got back from the Husker game (thanks to the Pres of my company we got great seats). Today the Huskers managed to squeeze out a 41-4o victory over Ball State (David Letterman’s alma mater) and all in all it was a great game. Jess and I got some sun, and are kinda pink and need to remember to wear sunscreen in the future. Really, just wasn’t thinkin’ when we went out this morning.

Check this out… a shot I took of Nebraska’s winning touchdown (click for full pic):

Go Big Red!

I told ya they were nice seats!

+ Wedding plans By Jason 05 September 2007 at 7:04 am 82 views 1 Comment

So, it turns out weddings are pretty hard to plan when you give yourself a <$5000 budget and only 3.5 months deadline. Who’d have guessed? Jess and I finally set a date (Dec. 24th) and we’ve been spending almost every waking moment working towards getting everything ready. So far we’ve gotten:

Our Photographer: Dulce Productions (a great wedding photographer from Omaha)
Our rings: Whitehall Jewellers (both custom designed)
Her bouquet: David M. Mangelsen’s (another local Omaha company)
Her dress: Surburban Bridals (the perfect dress after days of searching)
Our location: A nice private Bed & Breakfast (a wonderful place and owner)
Our officiant: District Court Judge Joseph Troia (such a nice guy over the phone!)

Not bad, huh? There’s still plenty to do, but that is a lot of the major stuff out of the way! :) I tell you, I don’t know how people plan weddings bigger than this without any help… it’s pretty insane as it is!

+ It’s Show Time! By Jason 31 March 2007 at 9:03 pm 66 views No Comments

Today was my first introduction to the trade show that my company puts on. Since I was a “virgin” they decided I should work Badge Check. My job was to only let in those who had badges… not a hard job at all, but 12 hours of standing on concrete doesn’t do anything nice for my feet.

I will say this, the show itself was amazing. I’ve never been to anything like it before. I was told that although we had thousands show up, next time will be bigger. Wow.

After show they put on an open house here at the new offices and invited all attendees to show up, so I decided to come and protect my office aquariums from all the now liquered up patrons (kegs + unlimited martinis downstairs = danger). Nothing happened, thank goodness.

All in all it was great, though I may never walk again…. except when part 2 happens tomorrow.

+ Onward to Dakota By Jason 26 March 2007 at 10:50 am 68 views No Comments

Today I continue my preparations for my trip to North Dakota. My company is opening two new stores there and as part of the IT dept, I need to be there to make sure everything runs correctly.

I haven’t been to ND for about 7 or 8 years now… I wonder if it’s changed much. Oh well, I got much more to do and not much time to do it in. My next post will probably be from Fargo, brrr, I get chills just thinking about it.

+ On the side By Jason 12 March 2007 at 7:05 am 73 views No Comments

I’ve been busy this last week helping out a friend of mine in the photography business. John needed some help with his company’s website and I hadn’t ever worked on a photo site before, so I was all for it. The site is still a work in progress, but I think it should be done quite soon (just need to get a few more things from his host and we should be good to go). Check it out:

Dulce Productions, Inc.

Not bad, huh? I figure while I’m at it I’ll give him a plug or two. Dulce Productions is an Omaha based company specializing in all types of photography from weddings to nature shots. Now, most of you know I’m an amature photographer myself and his stuff blows mine away (I’m gettin’ there, though!). So, if you’re in need of a good photographer and live in the Midwest (he’s not shy about travel) go ahead and shoot him a message. :)

Okay… enough of the shameless plugging. I need to get back to work!
