+ New Site Design Launched! By Jason 24 March 2008 at 8:26 pm 111 views 1 Comment

Finally, after weeks of working, the new design is finished. Well, I’d say it’s about 99% finished. I’ll be spending the rest of the week tweaking things here and there and making sure it works in all my favorite browsers (I think there are some minor issues with IE6, but when isn’t there, amirite?). If you notice any major issues, please drop a comment in here and I’ll take a look! :)

P.S. The Wordpress Theme Test Drive Plugin is really awesome and really came in handy during this upgrade process.  To sum it up, this plugin allows the Admin user to view a different theme than the public.  Give it a try if you need to redesign!

+ Another site update! By Jason 12 March 2008 at 11:55 am 95 views No Comments

As I’ve been re-designing the site, I’ve had to make some changes to the actual data/setting of the live blog so that it flows over nicer. If you see anything odd, it’s probably just me changing settings. Among other things, I’ve now imported my old Archive site over to the current database so I can stop maintaining two blogs. I’ve also cleaned up my blogroll/webroll/etc and will continue to make changes over the next couple weeks.

The design itself is probably about 85% completed… check out this side-by-side:

New vs Old!

I don’t know about you, but I’d spend a lot more time browsing the site on the right versus the site on the left (I sized them the same, but the design on the left has an 800px width while the one on the right has a 1024px width). The new design also validates XHTML 1.1 (so far, so good), but to keep it that way I will have to go back and edit my old posts to change how I had been posting pictures. Not too major, but kind of bothersome.

Well, that’s all I have about this today… just figured people might get confused as I’m swapping things around and I wanted to make sure everyone was aware that the site is still changin’!
