It’s official, Barack Obama will be our 44th President. While I might not have always agreed with the things he’s said, I am a card carrying Democrat, and I do believe that he will be good for this nation. I am proud to have him as our new President (and to have cast my ballot for him) and I look forward to seeing what our country can do with a new man at the helm. We now have a little over 100 days before he will take office… what will happen in George Bush’s remaining days?
The future isn’t written, but I will say, I am proud to be alive at this moment in history, for it is a very proud day for Americans everywhere. While racism hasn’t been defeated, it has been dealt a large blow.
Now then, I must finally get to sleep! Good night all… may tomorrow bring even more good tidings!
EDIT – Now that it’s official, enjoy (from Patrick Moberg):
SpaceX, the private company established by PayPal’s founder Elon Musk, has made history by successfully launching their Falcon 1 rocket and achieving orbit. Falcon 1 has made history as the first privately developed liquid fueled launch vehicle to achieve earth orbit! The amazing thing about this is that it was only their fourth try. While many people see that as failure, most countries take many tries to get it right.
This launch comes after the failure of the Falcon 1 (Flight 3). During Flight 3, a problem occurred just after the first separation which prevented the second stage from occurring and from reaching orbit. According to their press release, “SpaceX was aware of and had allowed for a thrust transient, but did not expect it to last that long. As it turned out, a very small increase in the time between commanding main engine shutdown and stage separation would have been enough to save the mission. The fix was also very simple, requiring one line of code to be changed.”
War Plan Red envisioned primarily U.S. attacks on and occupation of various Canadian cities, including Halifax (to be subjected to a poison-gas first strike), Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, and Victoria.

Burger King's got a new burger out, inspired by The Dark Knight. Except last summer, it was inspired by Spider-man 3. What's going on? Marketing is just getting lazy now.
That man you see in the photograph above is an international treasure. Under that rejected humble facade is none other than Charles Thomas Bolton who will one day be seen as one of the great astronomers of all time.
Little did we know it would be the promise of a revolution wherein the metallic skin is replaced with with a fabric that morphs and bends into different shapes.
News Stories told with large pictures. It’s a very interesting way to veiw the news, as it seems to draw you into it much more than a small picture could.
“Barack Obama’s half brother Malik said Thursday that if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background. In an interview with Army Radio he expressed a special salutation from the Obamas of Kenya.”
Life has been found 1.6 kilometres under the sea floor, at temps reaching 100 °C. John Parkes hopes his team's discovery might one day help find life on other planets. He says it may even redefine what we understand as life and what we understand by age.
It will be a real nail-biter on May 25, 2008, for engineers, as the Phoenix spacecraft performs a series of challenging maneuvers right before it lands on Mars.
The Hill asked all 97 senators who are not running for president the same question: ?If you were asked, would you accept an offer to be the VP nominee?? Some senators laughed, but others took the question seriously.
