I finally got around to taking some nicer pics of Jessica’s ring, but the camera still didn’t want to focus right. Oh well. It’s a beautiful ring and everyone always asks to see it, but Jess doesn’t follow me around everywhere, so now you can look here!

Jess is currently high… stoned, if you will. Why is that? Well, it seems that when you’re sick and want relief it’s easy to mistake “2 teaspoons” for “2 tablespoons” on the dosing instructions for cough syrup.
The cough medicine we have has Dextromethorphan (DXM) as the only active ingredient, and Jess took about 6 teaspoons(180mg) in one shot, instead of 2 teaspoons (60mg). A quick look into this chemical tells us some interesting information:
DXM, when consumed in low recreational doses (usually under 200 mg), is often described as having a buoyant, vaguely psychedelic effect similar to a mixture of alcohol, opiates, and marijuana.
Let me be the first to tell ya… it surely does. Jess has sworn off cough syrup for probably the next few months, as she’s not a fan of the sudden stoning. Anyway, I need to go as she is telling me that her toenails feel funny. 
Today Jess is the big Two-Five… that’s right, 25 years old! I already gave her her presents, and tonight I’ll be taking her out for her birthday dinner.
Wow, it seems like this year went pretty fast, it’s like we just celebrated her birthday. I really hope she has a great day (she was feelin’ pretty lousy yesterday) and that she enjoys her meal (and cake!) tonight.
Let’s see… what all did I get for her? I got her a bottle of Ice Wine, a bottle of a nice Rosé wine from France. What else? Truffles… lots and lots of truffles. She loves them! Also, I got her some bubble baths and lotions that she had asked for. All and all, she seemed very happy with what she got. 
So what all did you get her? Nothing?! You’d better leave a comment wishing her a happy birthday then! You don’t want to get in trouble.
I needed to fill my left front tire today… was a bit low (okay, it was almost completely flat ). Since Jess needed the car after my lunch hour, I decided to bring her with me when I went to fill the tire. That’s when I discovered that filling your tires can be a danger to you! That’s right. It seems that if you leave your car running while filling your tire, you can cause the car to explode!!
How is this possible? According to Jess (who assures me that she has a PHD in Carology), if your engine creates a spark (which, as we all know, they do almost all the time when idling), it can float through the air (which is not flammable, so don’t worry) until it reaches the tire you’re inflating with the air hose. It will then ignite the air you’re filling the tire with (which is flammable) and blow up your car (and anyone inside… ouch!).
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
