Jess and I got semi-interviewed today on a Podcast, and you can check it out/listen below:
Jason & Jessica on the “Featuring Who?” Podcast
Some of the things that we discussed:
- How Jess and I found Neowin (a forum we belong to) and how we became staff.
- Our computer setups.
- Discussion about Virtual Machines (Sun xVM VirtualBox 1.6.4, specifically).
- Microsoft’s Mohave Experiment backfiring
- Travelers’ Laptops May be Detained At the Border
It’s a fun little listen… I feel like a huge nerd, but what else is new? Enjoy!
Quick Rant…
As someone in the IT field, I’m sick of consumers who don’t understand what they buy. If you go into a store and purchase a new laptop with Windows Vista on it, I don’t want to hear you keep asking “Where is my XP? Why did I get this Vista thing?” Seriously. I don’t know why it’s still acceptable for people to not know anything about technology. I’m not asking that everyone be a technophile, but really, have a little basic knowlege.

Above is a quick example… this is a scan of an actual note I got with a laptop yesterday (the color was added by me, it was a black & white scan). Sure, I’ll look into “Delete Vista” for you. *sigh*
I was sent this picture today, and I just had to share it… here’s the quote I got along with it:
“Ever wondered why all the hard work the AutoPatcher team puts in is worth the effort? It only took 4 days to patch and install 75mb of drivers on a 100+ new laptops with 0% bandwidth usage!!!!!!!!Last rollout took 14 days for same task. The possibilities are staggering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Well I tell ya, I love the way that looks!
If anyone else has any pics like this to share, please send them my way!
