Another Cert bites the big one… 26 November 2007 at 2:31 pm by Jason 174 views

Finally, after a month of studying my brains out, I have defeated the 70-291 exam. The MCSA is now mine! Whoo! Also, I now have some free time to be on the internet, sweet. Sucked being away for a month.

Tip for anyone attempting the 70-291: Make sure you know SUS, DNS, and RRAS like the back of your hand. Seriously.

I’m now just one exam away from my MCSA… but this one is gonna be a doozy! Unfortunately most of the companies I’ve worked for in the past are in the small to medium range, and as such their networking seemed to be along the lines of “modem goes into the router, the end”. While it worked, it doesn’t help me prepare for this test… just look at the name:

Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure

Yeah, piece of cake. :P I’ll be up late every day pouring over the book (I self-study for every exam I take… no classes for me) and going over my company’s network infrastructure (it’s as close as I’ll get for now). I think I’ll be okay, but it was just shock seeing the size of the book compared to all the others.

+ 70-290 is outta here! By Jason 28 August 2007 at 3:26 pm 120 views No Comments

Today I went and took my next certification test, my 70-290 towards my MCSA. Just one more test and that bad boy is mine! Whoo! :D Nothing much else to report today… kind of fried from studying all week!

I’m finally back on track for my MCSA! Whoo! Only two tests stand before me and the certfication, and the first to get beaten to a pulp by my brain is the 70-290: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment. Piece of cake, right? :P

Anywho, I’m hoping to get this one under my belt before the middle of March, so wish me luck on it! I’m thinking it won’t be too horrible, as this is something I do for a living, but you never know!
