So this weekend Jess and I went out to run some errands. As we were out and about we stopped by a convinience store to grab some drinks. I got an energy drink, while she grabbed a yogurt smoothie. So we pay, get our drinks to the car and start to drive off, and Jess opens her drink. What happens next is the scary part. Upon opening the drink, the most foul smell we’ve ever smelt crept out of the bottle and filled the car. It seems (after re-capping the drink) that it had expired in 1845…. okay, it wasn’t that old, it actually expired back in June. So they aparently had sold us bad yogurt, and we turned around so we could get our money back. While Jess talked to the cashier, I went hunting and found (just with about 10 seconds of looking) 6 more expired bottles. I’m sure that had I looked more, I’d have found plenty where those came from.
So the moral of this story is this, if you ever buy a drink made with a dairy product, be sure and check the expiration date before opening.
So, first things first… we have no hot water in our apartment. None. Nada. Nil. Not a drop. Just the cold stuff, my friends. So while normally that wouldn’t matter, I had to go to work today, and it was about 56° outside this morning… so a cold shower just wasn’t cutting it. You know, we pay over $500 a month for this place, and yet every month something goes wrong. This month it’s aparently “water”. A couple months ago it was “air” and it nearly killed our pets (fish and cats). Argh. For the money we pay them, we should be in a much nicer apartment. Oh wait, that’s right, they renovated a bunch of others with new everything… and charge they same. So we pay $500+ for crap, and other people in the same apartment complex pay $500+ for all new stuff. Yay for us.
Okay, time for the new Blog status update! I’m officially 50% done with the design! I normally would be going much faster by I don’t know too much about CSS, so making this isn’t as quick and easy as I thought…. BUT, it’s getting there. Also, I have installed Coppermine for my images/photos and have integrated it into Wordpress using Coppermine Fetch. It works very well, so if any of you have Wordpress and want your Coppermine photos to integrate, just use that! Anywho, that’s all for now… expect the new blog soon!
