Today I sat down and took my first Microsoft Beta Exam, and boy, was it lacking the spit and polish of the final Microsoft Exams! The usual paragraph of text for each question was summed up into one or two sentences, and there were almost no picture examples. I’d say about 15% of the questions had some type of formatting problem (i.e., THEY looked like this), but at the end I had the option to comment on the different questions and I made sure to mention all the problems I found. It was a great experience, and hopefully I’ll be invited to take more in the future.
The exam that I took today was Exam 70-621: Upgrading your MCDST Certification to MCITP Enterprise Support, which, if I pass, will turn my MCDST certification into a MCITP! The exam covered the new Microsoft Windows Vista (which I’m running at home), and all in all I think I did okay. I unfortunately won’t know if I passed for another 8 weeks, but while I’m waiting I can always get back to work on obtaining my MCSA.
